Christ Lutheran Church  

The Quale branch of the West Koshkonong Church, founded in 1844 was released on May 26th, 1875 to form a separate parish in Stoughton. The erection of a church building on East Main Street was undertaken by less than ten families.  It was completed in 1875 but was not dedicated until June 6th, 1878. 

1875 Rev. C.M. Hvistendahl, he resigned in 1881 and went back to Norway 

1874 – 1878 Church erected, dedicated June 6th, 1878.  Described in the 1882 City Directory with a seating capacity of 600 and the finest building of its kind in the city.  On January 1, 1878, the membership of this church was 326,

1876 Parsonage built 

In 1914, construction of a new church building was begun with dedication services July 15th, 1915 conducted by Rev. J.A.O. Stub.  At this time, part of the congregation withdrew to form the Central Christ Church.
