515 E. Main St. - Turner, Dearborn and Atkinson Tobacco Warehouse (AKA 100 S. Seventh St.)

Built between 1884 and 1887 and one of three tobacco warehouses remaining on East Main Street (a fourth tobacco warehouse remains at the corner of Coffee and East Main Streets).

Construction began in 1884, and the warehouse opened three years later.  With 30,000 square feet, it was one of Stoughton's smaller tobacco storage buildings.  According to a 1994 Stoughton Courier Hub article "as the building was cleared the prior year, workers unearthed several postcards of the tobacco days:  brawny men hauling heavy bales of tobacco and long-skirted women deveining premium leaves to be used as cigar wrappers."
